I am so damn proud of myself. I behaved this year for sure! This has to be the smallest Zara haul I have ever done, and I’m really happy with Everything I bought. For my Instagram followers- guys I will link back whatever is available.
It may be the lockdown that helped with this, I’m just not wearing much of anything at the moment, anything that’s quick, easy, comfortable, easy to iron is what’s working at moment and so I seem to have lost my desire for clothes, especially because lockdown may have eased round the Uk- but not for Leicester….. Guess where I live!? Leicester. Seriously peeps- what are the chances??
So back to the Haul; One can never have too many white shirts, you agree right? I mean every wardrobe has one white shirt minimum….
And this one with the pleats called my name and wanted a home amongst all the others. Couldn’t say no- it’s too chic, and at £12.99 it’s sitting with its new family. Click here
Next up are these high rise bootleg cropped jeans. I needed to check the cropped part because as a modest dresser- ‘cropped’ has to be a certain amount- but being 5’3- most of the time it isn’t too much of a issue. And these fit perfectly, just slightly grazing the ankle, just how I like my ‘cropped’ to be. And have a look at the ends. I absolutely adore the ripped edges. Another bargain at £12.99. Click here
I fell in love with the bow- it’s the cutest with its ‘sailor vibes’. I’m still loving the blue and white feels to clothing- and this balances itself nicely against the black. It’s definately not for the warmer weather we have at the moment, but it’s going in with my winter wardrobe for sure. Another bargain at £15.99. Click here.
Next up this tweed effect contrast top, I love the ruching on the sleeves on this, and the tweed effect looks beaut. ( It is just effect, it’s not actual tweed) it’s perfect for the heat we have at the moment- can you guess the price? Urm. Yup. £12.99 again
And last up it’s these straight cut mum jeans,
The colour is slightly lighter than the other one, and the bottoms are just straight cut offs. I had to add this in, at £12.99 it’s a no brainer.
And here’s how I’ll be piecing them together
The white shirt will definitely look better tucked into the jeans- and depending on where I will be going, either the heels or the trainer’s. Both finish off the outfit perfectly.
The next one gives me proper summer feels, it’s the tweed effect top with the mum jeans, and a pair of flat pointies. Add the beach hat and plan the perfect garden party!
My favourite out of everything, my ‘sailor’ top, being a cropped top I’ll definately need a top underneath to cover my rear ( I am not a fan of my rear sticking out too much) the mum jeans and a pair of Converses. I think I conquered it.
All 5 items came to just under £68, and I got 3 different outfits out of it. I’m really pleased with it. All links attached.
What do you guys think? How would you wear it?
Love and regards.

Whilst in India we felt like Kings (Im the only female so I always refer to the more masculine words when Im on holiday) with people more interested in us, and our lifestyle. The Hospitality and service was second to none. We were treated almost like royals, everyone coming to our beck and call, whether that be the taxi driver or the concierge or the ‘chaiiwala’
Once we landed in Dubai, we asked the dude that picked us up from the Airport to stop at a supermarket and ATM if possible. He said there’s None! My hubby asked again, he said “Are you saying there’s no supermarket or ATM on the way to hotel?”. He responded “No”. My husband asked for the third time- “Are you telling me that in our half hour drive, we will not Evan have a fuel pump?” He answered, “Buy from your hotel”.
Welcome to Dubai People.…
Our last 24 hours, and I don’t really know how we managed so much, and ate so much, I feel bloated just writing about it. Seriously the way we went, anyone would think we were given the last 24 hours to live! But hey we sure did pack our day full, to a point where the journey back home on the plane felt like a relief.
Having already been to Dubai, (this is our third time) we have pretty much covered a lot of the touristy things on previous occasions. (Which I do need to do a quick blog about, especially for the kids because there’s a lot to do.) So this time it was just about enjoying the luxaries of Dubai, and eating loads to put away in the reserve for when we start our diets when we get back home (We still doing that, I promise…..maybe after our next holiday?!)
So what did we do?
We landed early evening in Dubai, and as soon as we had deposited our bags, we head off to ‘The Dubai Mall’ for a bite to eat. We really enjoyed PF Changs the last time we came, so this was our first pit stop.
We ordered the Dynamite shrimps, because without this picture you were never there!…
We also ordered Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Sesame Chicken with Plain Noodles, and Kung Pao Chicken with rice on the side.
And we got a table outside so that we could get to see the Dubai fountains whilst we enjoyed our food.
Dubai Fountains and Burj Khalifa
After our meal we walked outside the mall, and watched the famous Dubai fountain show……., because once again if you don’t snap it, you were never there.
Feeling extremely shattered from our flight, we headed off to our Hotel. This time we were adamant to wake up early, have breakfast and make the most of the little hours we had here.
Views from our Hotel
With the boys tucked up in bed, the hubby and I enjoyed the beautiful views from our balcony whilst having tea. Yup tea. We don’t function without it….. And just how beautiful is this view!! It’s mesmerising!
The next morning, bright and early. We made it to breakfast!! Straight after because the elder boy was still snoring we headed off to the pool…. Where I captured this selfie, which I’m extremely proud off. Selfie game strong! (I just deleted the 50 pics before)
Once the kid woke up, he had an empty stomach, so we headed off to Pappa Roti. Based at The Walk in JBR, it’s just a 5 minute walk away from our hotel.
These flavoured buns are just divine and melt in the mouth. We chose nutella, cinnamon, lotus and caramel and all of them were divine. And really filling also.
Alongside this we had cold drinks, It’s always virgin mojito for me, and the boys went for their smoothies. Evan this was luscious!
Further down on the same path we come to JBR Beach, having had seen loads of beaches in India, we just walked up and down, and took photos.
We had decided on another boat trip…. Until we saw this…
Dining in the sky.
A slow ride up 40 meters in the air, and then you are spun round (gently) while you enjoy your snacks and drinks and enjoy the view of Dubai.
I was absolutely ecstatic to do this. Back at home I keep on going on the ‘London in the Sky’ website, I haven’t booked it yet, purely because the weather is unpredictable, and the last thing I want it to be in the sky whilst the rain is pouring down and freezing cold.
Also this is something I wouldn’t usually do with the men in my life, they are all ‘safe’ people and prefer their own feet being firmly on the ground, whilst I’m happy to jump off the Eiffel tower. (If they let me). But for me they held their breath and prayed for their lives.
This had to be the highlight of my whole trip.
After this we headed off to the Dubai Mall again, the boys wanted to do a spot of shopping because in India they found nothing…
And the highlight for the boys….. Balmain at Dubai Mall had 70% off.
And boy did they shop….
And now the boys also had souvenirs for themselves to take home.
It’s really difficult to bring back souvenirs for everyone at home, the families are growing and also we get everything back at home, so nothing feels new. But one thing that I knew everyone would love is Patchi chocolate.
Patchi is a luxury brand of chocolate, and just to experience the shop is amazing, they have a variety of chocolate flavours on offer.
My favourite part, this wall of chocolate drawers. I NEED this in my life. (I don’t even like chocolate!)
I fell in love. It’s amazing. I wanted a go, but only thing I got is a photo.
We got a mixture packed up in each box, one for each family.
Our evening was spent at the beautiful Marina, we walked the beautiful stretch here.
Until we got to Nandos.
Yup. Nando’s! Because we can’t have it back at home because it’s not Halal. I’ve always had the pitta with the chicken fillet and pineapple…. But unfortunately they didn’t have it in the menu…. Actually the menu has changed so much so I was disappointed and yet excited as well.
I ended up getting the chicken strips with pineapple on the ends, and it comes with hummus and nan, which was really refreshing.
The boys went for wings and chicken fillets with rice….
And the Dude…. Chicken pieces with rice and veg…. His last meal whilst on holiday and he has decided to start his diet.
Once we were full, we left sweet Dubai and made out way to the airport. Our last haul back home.
And that’s the end of our trip. Goa, Mumbai and Dubai all wrapped up. And what an amazing trip it was. No regrets over it what so ever, we have actually decided that we will step out of our comfort zone more often, as this experience may have been daunting initially, but turned out to be the best trip so far.
Hope u enjoyed our trip with us x
Love and Regards

I had Two weeks off work, and I did…… absolutely Nothing and enjoyed every moment of it.
Christmas for me usually means ‘Shopping!!’. But we all behaved this year. Just one day in Bicester. That’s All. And I promise I have deleted all my favourite shopping apps off my phone. Nearly into the second week of January and Im still going strong…… fighting the urge…… its really hard. But Im doing it.
Its not because I cant shop, its more because at this time of year I end up buying stuff I dont need. Ive still got a hoard of clothes from last year that I havent evan worn yet (and dont know if I will) .
So when the hubby said shall we go Bicester Village tommorrow, I knew it wasnt a good idea, but sat in the car with a smile on my face. This time the condition was that I was NOT driving at all though.
We went with a plan in our heads…… We werent going for shopping…. it was just a day out, because we were cooped up in the house since the school holidays, and had conquered so many series on netflix. We needed to get out with a week left before school started. So a nice day in Bicester village, one item each and doughnuts, Thats all. I was after a wallet (Another one! Yes. Ofcourse. Always another one). My Boy was after a pair of jeans. The younger Boi a jacket, and the Hubby…. well should I say it really? Really? Lacoste…. seriously still waiting on the Loyalty card!
And how did it go??
Well a little like this:
Hmmmmm…. Productive Day. Dont you think? But in all fairness. We got bargains!! so Why not? (still trying to justify it to myself)
For those of you who don’t know or have not been to Bicester Village, it is an absolutely beautiful Designer outlet on the edge of Oxfordshire. And when I say beautiful, it really is beautiful, it’s cute and chic. If the weather is good, you could almost forget you are in the UK at all.
And now heres a few bits and pieces we picked up:
From the Hugo Boss Store the Hubby picked up a sports top for himself, and that other ‘red’ top that he claims he will wear for football. (That for sure is staying in cupboard forever!!) Both of these were for £90.
Then we hit the Armani Outlet where the hubby bought this tracksuit for £85. I think that’s a bargain!!
He also managed to pick up these jeans at £49 each
Next up we went into All Saints
I don’t need a coat- but I want one, and this 3/4 coat with toggle on it, was for £84. From £325!! (No longer wanting a wallet 😉)
The shop the hubby was waiting for, although he did well, he bought 6 tops from Cheshire 3 months ago. He received a Lacoste top as a secret Santa at work. (Seriously who gives Lacoste as Secret Santa?!) So he settled for two tops at £37.50 each.
And the Boi found himself two tops at £29 each.
I didn’t know there were two Hugo Boss shops in Bicester, but yup there are two Hugo Boss shops in Bicester, and the Elder Boy found this for himself at £50.
We walked into DKNY. I swear I had no intention of buying anything. Until….. The sales girl had the prettiest of trainers. I just NEEDED them. Perks of it though…. It had £80 written on the label, and when I went to till they charged £48! If only they had in different colours also! Damn!
This is usually our favourite shop, but it was a disappointment this time round. Just got the one top for the younger boi from here for £18.
Cath Kidston had these at £6 each. So picked up a few to give as gifts for little ones in the family
Well we on a shopping spree, already done the damage. Right? Another £17 wasnt going to hurt anyone (but the hubby who’s paying) and I can’t use my pretty new diary without a pretty new pen right? Took out the card one last time…. Listen nobody told him to park outside Swarovski!
So All in All a Note to self: Bicester Village is NEVER a good idea for a Day out unless you want to come back broke
On the way home, we were starving, and decided to hold out until we got back to Leicester. We ended up at Pamson Grill. It’s a traditional Pakistani Restaurant, exactly what we needed to fill our now shopping tired bellies.
The decor and set up inside is so classy
We filled our bellies with a mix grill for starters and papdi chat (which I ate before I took a photo!. I must be been starved 🙈)
And for mains we opted for Chicken Karhai, Lamb Karhai, and Biryani. And we devoured it.
Loved everything about Pamson Grill. Definitely will be visiting again.
Afternoon tea with a bit of difference. It just had to be done. I owed Sabina a treat for her birthday and it had to be.. Hmmm. …how can I put it?….. Different.
I think that’s the best way to describe it. We have a tradition now, we don’t give each other gifts anymore, I mean I feel like I have everything I want anyway, and if I don’t. I’ll go and buy it. So in terms of gifts- it gets really hard for us to buy each other…. Stuff.
So we made a tradition that we will just take each other out. We both love travelling, we love our days out, we love food….. So that ticks off some boxes….
When it comes to Sabina I know there’s one thing I can never go wrong with. Like me- she loves Afternoon Tea. Having already been to The Dorchester and Shard, it was looking difficult to find something to top it. Also she took me to Disneyland. I mean how can I top that (by the way, I still haven’t!)
And then I found this
Afternoon Tea on a Boat! OK, OK, I know…. She’s not keen on boats (or planes, or cars, or trains. I really don’t know how she gets out) . But I asked her first and she was super excited and agreed on the condition that she could wear her life jacket….. on board…. I went with it….
So now, a bit of “What is Bateaux London?”
Well. A boat trip on the River Thames, where we can see the highlights of London whilst enjoying Afternoon Tea. I mean like…. Where have I been all my life! And let me tell you the price… £46 per person. That includes the afternoon tea and the boat ride which is one hour and 15 minutes. How could I possibly go wrong?! ( I paid an extra £5 per person to get a window seat)
Me, Afsha, and Sabina headed off with Sabina’s life jacket in the boot of the car. We had to get to the Embankment Pier- which is just outside The Savoy. Lucky for us Afsha’s sister works near the Savoy- so parking was arranged for us. (She’s our new best friend. Yup Asma you heard it here. Hello Bestie! xxx)
After consoling Sabina with; ‘Yes, they will give us life jackets on the cruise if needed’, and ‘Yes, ofcourse! Theres a rubber dingy for each and every one of us’ and not to forget ‘The life jackets on the boats are so much more better than the one in the boot’. We headed off. Without the life jacket (Wahey!. I do love her little soul!)
Our meeting point was at the Embankment pier, Half an hour before our cruise was to leave we were taken in to a reception area- a large room on top of water, it had a bar for drinks, and generally a waiting area. Also a place for photos.
And then we were seated, and our boat trip started. The layout was beautiful, the tables clean, pianist playing live music. All in all I couldn’t fault it. It looked fab. As soon as it started we were offered tea or coffee….
That was the only selection. Being Afternoon tea enthusiasts- well let’s say we have never been given only 2 options before.
We had our tea whilst watching the wonders of London go by.
Lets be fair, the Tea wasn’t the best. It was just Tea. I make better. Also the Afternoon Tea in general wasn’t that great either. Here’s what we were given:
For sandwiches we had egg sandwiches, and cheese and salad sandwiches (we had gone for the vegetarian option as the food is not halal on board) both of which were cold- I mean like just come of the the fridge cold and hard.
We had scones and clotted cream (in the plastic tubs) and jam.
And a selection of desserts, which also were not the best. But we were here for the experience and so enjoyed what we could .
In terms of the cruise itself, i have no complaints, it was amazing, the views were great, they served us quickly. When we asked for more tea, it was given quickly and I would definitely recommend the window seats! that is a must! Just do keep in mind that a stopover for food is needed after this one.
After we had our Afternoon tea (having left most of it behind). We headed on upstairs. Luckily for us the weather was beautiful.
Upstairs on the boat is a open top. its a really pretty set up, they have artificial grass on the floor, and benches running along the middle so you get to see London in all its Glory.
The perfect spot for our pictures, and i think we enjoyed this the best from the whole trip.
So All in All- Would I recommend Bateux London to you? Yes I would. It is a very different experience of London, and its at a very affordable price for being in London.
The trip itself is a 1 hour 15 minute boat trip- all in all you need 2 and a half hours from boarding to unboarding, and the rest of the day is yours in London to do as you please. So we got a chance to do other preety cool things once we were there.
Like visiting the Twinnings shop- which was on the Strand- on the other side of the Savoy and a 15 minute walk down. Do visit this shop it is the preetiest tea shop I have ever seen.
We then used the tube to do some tube-hopping and ended up for a stroll in Harrods, and ended up eating at Burgeri in SoHO- which was Devine!!!! a must stop people. Get that ticked off on your to-do- list, and put it back on for next year- because I could, I would, and I will be going back.
And then we caught our last tube, and headed off home. Thats Sabina’s birthday trip done for last year, now I got to cover this years. Stay tuned guys.
‘Tis the season to be jolly… Fa la la la lah, la la la la.” Also tis the season for secret santa! (Is that to many la’s in fa la la la lah, la la la la? Above?)
Office, retail, workshop, wherever you work, Christmas is the best time to work (if you haven’t got annual leave that is)
The festive spirit is everywhere. I don’t even celebrate Christmas but it’s the best time of the year to be at work. The mood is much different, don’t you think?
We do a secret santa every year at the office, and I get excited about it before it even reaches December.
Here’s a few under £10 gift ideas for every personality in the office :
The Tea Drinker
A personalised mug, maybe with their own name, a message or a picture. Starting at £5 this will be a proper treat for the tea drinker. Also you know they won’t be taking your mug anymore! Find some great ones here www.personalisedgiftshop.co.uk
Being a fan of all things personalised I would have to go for a personalised pen. Once again www.personalisedgiftshop.co.uk has some great pens with cases personalised. And you can find them from as little as £8.99.
These chocolate dumbells from www.notonthehighstreet.co.uk are just the cutest. Everyone needs a little treat – especially in Christmas. At £8.00, Mr Muscle will be flexing those biceps – (Maybe after Christmas.)
The Office Pervert
Isn’t Secret Santa just made for this person? The options are endless, and funny. Depending on how much you want to insult the person… Choose wisely, it could end up terribly wrong.
This year Black Friday falls on 29th November. Are you Ready??
Is it just me that thinks that Black Friday offers more discount then any other time of year? Ill probably say this again in the Christmas sales- but for the time being- isnt it the best day ever for a sale?
Although most stores offer some sort of discount on Black Friday, I find that the most discounts are usually put towards electrical appliances and gadgets like laptops and pcs, and games etc. However all stores usually have something going on, so if you are after something specific, just wait it out. Every penny counts.
If we are ever after anything big- for instance a Television, we try (if manageable) to hold out to this time of year. For the same price we are willing to pay- we can get something far bigger and better.
Last year we bought our TV, proudly sitting on our wall, and the year before I bought my kettle and toaster.
Normally at £79.99 for the kettle and £79.99 for the toaster, I picked up both for £70. And I did this online, so I didn’t have to face the manic rush of going to the store.
The internet has made life easier for shoppers like me- who can’t deal with crowds or queues, however there can be issues with servers, and sometimes the website just stops responding. I remember when I wanted my kettle and toaster, I was at the dentist ( yes I’m forever at the dentist. My teeth are a chronic problem as you may have figured. I should just do a blog on my tooth journey, see how old I get before I have none. I give myself 3 years max.) and I saw that the price had dropped, whilst waiting in reception, I decided to purchase online, but everytime I went to pay- the website would crash. I then called the hubby dearest and both of us tried. After my appointment which went so slow because I had anxiety that I would loose out on my kettle and toaster, (but atleast I wasnt thinking of the pain of the tooth) the hubby rang to say he will go in to the store straight after work. Before he finished work I somehow managed the whole process online. And wahey!! I still have it sitting on my kitchen counter.
As you can see 2 years on, my toaster is spanking, but my kettle has definately had its day (shame on me for scrubbing with a scourer!) So my wish list for black friday this year is the kettle again. Unfortunately evan though its old now- the price is still the same at £79.99. So im hoping Ill get it at half price again, and both products will last me a couple more years.
Since Black Friday is coming up heres a little guide on how to survive the day:
Make A List
Its important to have a list, especially if you have a budget. so you dont end up buying things that are not needed, and neglecting the ones that you Need now.
Allow yourself a maximum amount you want to spend per product and try to stick to it.
Its best to check where the products are, and how much for. Some products go down alot (like my kettle and toaster) some products go down by 10p. YES! you saw the 10p, but because of the manic and the rush and people not seeing or researching beforehand- all they see is the sale sign and buy it, and later on realise they were done over. And some stores are really clever and sell there products at higher prices in the name of a ‘Sale’. So be Warned and be Sharp.
Black Friday sales usually do start early now- as some retailers want to get ahead of the game- so be aware of this if you are after something in particular from a particular store. Keep checking from a week in advance.
Also Black friday now is followed by Cyber Monday so in all honesty you have a whole weekend to pick up what you need. And do remember if its not available, Christmas sales are starting literally 10 days after, so wait it out!
If you dont get a chance to go to the store due to commitments, or like me hate crowds and queues, this is the best option. Do make sure that the web page you are using is reliable (check for the lock at the top) and be patient if the web page does crash. Id rather be refreshing the page in the comfort of my own house/office then to be standing in a queue.
Check items before buying.
This does not work for online orders, but if you are in a store, do check the item throughly, as hundreds of people before you have touched this item. So take a few minutes to check its not damaged, or dropped. Its so much more harder to get refunds for sale items.
So thats my tips of getting the best out of Black Friday. Hopefully Ill be using them myself, but the excited little bunny I turn into when I see the sale sign really doesnt help me.
Instagram is full of influencers showcasing Primarks new modest range of clothing.
And all I can say is “About Bloody Time!” … Finally after centuries a gap in the market had been discovered.
What is Modest Clothing?
Modest clothing can actually be described in various different ways, and everyone has their own interpretation of what modest is. Being a Muslim modest clothing is actually a part of my lifestyle. Generally it means covering up your body so that your assets aren’t revealed… For me it’s about covering parts of the body, and overall skin- apart from hands and feet and my face. I’m not too fussed about how tight an item is (although I love oversized items more) however for others how closely it fits also comes into modesty, and modest clothing. Personally for me I like to get an average ratio of halal (lawful) and haraam (unlawful) into an outfit. (And now the haram police will come after me in full force).
It’s damn difficult for us modest dressers, for example when I see a dress I like, it’s often sleeveless- or backless or has a thigh high slit, or a slit at the back…and then I have to figure out what to wear underneath or on top. And it can be draining especially in the summer months- when Even the material can be sheer. (That’s a whole another story)
Then skirts- can be too short, or the midi range- which requires leggings or tights … And all over again it looks boring and frumpy and too many layers that don’t compliment each other.
Or tops usually sleeveless- deep necks, backless…. You getting the drift right?
That’s not to say every item of clothing is like that- it’s just the obvious modest clothes are just plain ugly, big, boring and not to forget limited.
So having Primark bring up a range of modest clothing has appealed to a wide audience. However Primark are not the first in introducing the modest range, it has been explored by other retailers before,
DKNY launched the Ramadhan collection back in 2014- which was aimed at the modest Muslim dresser and the content was good. I liked the clothes they offered, but in all honesty am I really going to be able to afford a whole wardrobe full of DKNY? And then there was a issue of where the stores that offered the clothing were.
Mango also started offering modest clothing back in 2014 only available in the middle East. Although some of the pieces could be bought here- alot of the modest range was only available abroad. I remember when I went Dubai in 2015 and I shopped like crazy in that store. Since then Mango stores worldwide have modest clothing available. Most of my wardrobe comes from Mango and Zara as both offer stylish chic pieces, and I’m not stuck looking frumpy or outdated (I hope not)
After this trend a few other designers followed suit, like Tommy Hilfiger, Dolce and Gabbana, Max Mara…
And now it seems like being modest is actually a trend. With more models turning up on the runways wearing the headscarf aswell as modest clothing, it’s definitely looking that way.
Victoria Beckham started her clothes line just over a decade ago. Her selection was definately different to what was being sold out there, oversized yet modest clothing in the most glorious way. The way she dresses herself is very modest on most occasions. Modest and damn stylish! I loved her collection the best from all the designers, but I could never justify the amount she charges. Just the t-shirt start at £90 (damn you VB- we could’ve been friends!)
I’m looking forward to see the range in Primark, and I’m hoping that the variation will increase, and Evan more so I’m hoping that other highstreet retailers also see the gap so that I don’t have the worry of ending up at a wedding wearing the same outfit from Zara as my friends mum. (Omg does that happen!)
Hope you enjoyed my read- let me know what you think of the Primark modest range?.
Random thing here, woman in my late 30s going through Instagram and all I see is lips, beautiful large painted lips.
It didn’t affect me before, I understand the celebrity, Photoshopping culture, and I’m a little too old to allow it to get to me mentally…. But don’t those lips look so good?
I’m not a makeup freak- I’m old school. Foundation with the fingers at the bare minimum, eyeliner and lippy and I’m ready to go out 2 minutes later. But I’m noticing how small my lips are. I’ve never thought of them as small. I’ve never thought of them as anything apart from ‘lips’ to be honest.
But instagram is working its way into my soul now ( they do say social media is cancerous).
Back in my teenage years. When the Spice Girls were around, Lip liners were a trend. But not as we see them now. At that time they were used to line the lips, but kept at a different colour, or just line the lips and that’s all, rest stays nude.
I was a big fan of that (Guilty!) ThankGod that went away. (Although I think it’s slowey coming back)
And now in the last 2 years lip liners back, and it looks like they are here to stay thanks to Kylie ‘Lipkit’ Jenner. Have you seen her lips? (Ok it’s fillers. But still) Wooooow!
And compared to her lips, mine are non existent. So I decided to jump onto the bandwagon and see if its worth the extra 1 minute of my make up routine.
The main purpose of lip liner is to stop the lipstick from bleeding, and also it makes the lipstick last longer. But I’ll be using it to outline my lips and hopefully make them look bigger and fuller.
So I got 5 of my favourite lipstick shades that I use daily. And went on a shop to get the matching lipstick liners.
I’m a big fan of Huda Lipstick. It’s my first choice for lipsticks. It’s affordable at £18, it’s long wearing, nicely pigmented, so creamy in texture, lasts for ages and comes in beautiful shades. The lip liners I bought from Primark at £1 each, and the range in colour is huge.
So here’s how my trial went :
Firstly I’m sharing a recent photo of me- with lipstick only. (Say Hello to my little bundle of joy Sabina!)
So I took photos of my lips – lipstick free, then with just lipstick and then I applied lip liner on outer edge of lips, and then the lipstick- here’s how it went:
I can see a difference. Can you? And here it is again. Sideways
I’m actually quite astounded how much of a difference it has actually made. The lip liner allows me to give my lips some shape- and also they look so much more ‘louder’.
I’m loving it.
So is this going into my routine? Hell Ye!!
I’m absolutely loving my lips. I’m actually looking back at old photos and looking at myself in mirror. I’m loving it, and so glad I got all 5 shades in.
Love and Big kisses (that will definitely leave a stain now that the lip liner is on.)
After our over indulgence of hashbrown and brown sauce we headed off to Cheshire Designer Outlet.
Being just under 4 miles away, it takes us 10 minutes max to get there. Hence why we choose the Holiday Inn at Ellesmere Port with the banging hash browns.
Knowing full well that we wouldn’t be shopping much- as the sales hadn’t started we thought it’d be nice to just see what we could get if anything. If not- a nice stroll will do.
It started off steady- just walking in and out of shops. I found myself a wallet from Karl Lagerfeld, and it suited what I needed. A wallet is something that everyone gets fussy about. I need a big coin pocket inside because I forever have change. I don’t know why, but I just do. And this had that. I don’t like too much fuss on my wallets. Plain and simple does it. It ticked the boxes and so it went into the basket.
Next we stopped at G-Star. The eldest boy wanted jeans, he wasn’t after G-Star jeans in all honestly. He had seen some in Topshop for £40 which he was going to get once home. Here the jeans were 2 for £95. It would be stupid of him not to get these instead.
We always stop for some doughnuts and tea mid way. And the Doughnut Diner has the best Doughnuts.
After our short break -back to shopping again, I was quite surprised that some shops had sales going on, usually at this time of year- you get the normal 20% off, but that’s about it. But alot of the shops had something on top of the 20% aswell.
Going in and out of shops, we ended up spending quite a bit of time in Lacoste. I would say 90% of my husband clothes are from Lacoste, and that includes trainers too. He really should have some sort of loyalty offer/ card from them.
And that’s another 6 tops added to his collection. He got all 6 for £267. Not exactly a bargain as in December time it does get alot cheaper, but we do struggle with sizes and colours so he picked it up.
I was content with my wallet, I had purchased one thing- that’s enough for me untill…. I stepped into ‘The Sunglass Hut’. I do have a weakness in this shop- so I really should have known before I walked in, I’ll get something… But today the offer was better then I’d ever seen before… Buy first pair- get second pair at 70% off…
I got both at £136. Usually I pay more than this for one pair. The hubby dearest was so pleased he paid for them. Extra bonus. And I now have my sunglasses ready for my next holiday (hopefully I don’t loose them. I have a tendency to loose or break my frames- it’s not Evan considered news anymore. If my frames survive a holiday, then that’s news worthy!)
My 2 nephews have there birthdays coming up, 3 weeks apart, and the Adidas store had a good sale, they go for football together every Saturdays, so football boots seemed like the best thing to get for them for their birthdays.
Both trainors were for £32, usual price being £40 for the one pair. Another thing added to the Amex.
We also picked up a few bits and bobs from jack and jones for the boys at standard price- just to top them up.
So all in all we had a very productive day, more productive then we thought we would (no complaints off me).
We then headed off to fill out bellies. Shopping is exhausting and almost like a workout. We headed off to none other than the famous Wilmslow Road. We wanted to try something different. We almost always do, so we told ourselves whilst walking around let’s see what we find and decide….. We ended up in our normal spot. Antalya Cafe.
It’s Lebanese food. So can’t go wrong and we know it’s good food.
We had lamb chops, chicken tikka, chicken shawarma, and chips, and it was just as good as it’s always been.
And then we made our way home.
Seriously? When did chiverly die? Like he wants a nap while I drive home? Who does that? What happened to driving the woman around? We got something wrong when we asked for equal opportunities. Driving should have been left to the men.
All in all – a spontaneous trip cost the hubby just under £800. I’m up for going next weekend too! Hehe
