Lets Take a look Inside… Charlotte Tilsbury ‘The Pillow Talk Look’

With Valentines Day coming up, I was looking around at Make Up and cosmetics, and I saw this…….How great is this for Valentines? I know I was chuffed when I received mine, So Guys get a move on. This is the Gift of all Gifts….. Or ladies, how about gifting your best friend’s for ‘Galentines Day’? This day is getting more and more popular every year?…. Maybe…. Just maybe…. One day it’ll be a fixed day in the Calendar….. We can hope right?

What is Galentines Day?

Well… It’s a Fake celebratory day for ‘Ladies to celebrate Ladies’ and it’s held on the 13th of February. The idea actually came from a movie in 2010, but now we see promotions on Galentines, and I think it’s such a wonderful thing, so ladies let’s jump on the bandwagon and make it a real thing!!

I do have a habit of going off track, so you have to keep reminding me that this is about ‘Charoltte Tilsbury The Pillow Talk Look’, well yup as I said this is the absolute best if you are still thinking of a Valentines/ Galentines day gift.

This is IT people. It really is!

I was so chuffed when hubby gave me this, it isnt really a Valentines day gift, its more of a- ‘I told him, i want it and he bought it for me’ gift, but because its so near Valentines Day, we shall consider it as that….. Until Valentines day ofcourse …. when I will be waiting for my real gift.

….See there I go again. Off the record, off the track….

I have never tried any of the Charlotte Tilbury make up collection- but I do know people who have, and they love it, so I did a bit of researching and still didnt know what I wanted, and then just decided on the whole thing. Best decision right? I mean I was never going to love a brand with just a lipstick, and this covers so many products it will give me a full idea of the brand content and quality.

I went for the Pillow Talk because its such a natural beautiful colour, I was after something I could probably use every day without it looking too full on, and the products in here seemed just right.

So lets go through it (Finally I hear you say!)

Firstly how beautiful is the box, the dark magenta with gold is bold and striking!

and Tissue paper? I Love Tissue Paper (Dont laugh you like it too. its the extra touches that wow up the product and experience)

and heres a look at what was inside;

Plus a few freebies which I will also go through…. and all links for the products will be provided whether you want to phurcase individual items or the whole gift box.

I shall start off with the Luxury Palette in Pillow Talk (5.2g): a Pretty, Feminine every day Eyeshadow Palette. Just how gorgeous are the shades? In champagne pink, matte dusky rose, soft matte brown and rose gold sparkle. I fell in love straight away. The colours are so dreamy, soft and romantic. So fit for everyday porpose without looking overdone.

Also in the package is the Cheek to Chic in Pillow Talk (8g): a two-tone powder blusher in a dusky pink and light brown shimmer. Perfect to add a bit of colour to the cheeks, especially in these winter periods as my face looks like a frozen pale colour at the moment, its ideal to bring warmth back into your face.

And as a Treat a small sample of ‘Charlottes Magic Cream’ has been popped inside. What is this magic cream? I heard ya!. This cream is usually used backstage to prep up models skin before fashion shows, it’s a moisturiser that gives a dewy, glowy complexion on the skin instantly. I’m sold!

Full Fat Lashes mascara (8ml): The 5-in-1 mascara to define the eyes, and add drama to the face. Mascara makes all the difference to a made up face. If im wearing mascara it means im going all OUT, and this mascara is the bees knees, its soft and its curls the eyelashes in the exact places. (Please ignore my nails, I have the dreaded habit of nail biting, and now seeing this picture I Will Stop. Urgh it looks awful)

Matte Revolution in Pillow Talk (3.5g): The most populer of the Charlotte Tilbury collection Matte lipstick. This velvety formula enhances your own natural lip colour, and adds a twinge of pink to it, to give it a more fresher fuller look. I could potentially not wear makeup, and just have this on, and I feel better straight away. And you can always add more coats of it, to get a more dramatic colour. This is going straight into my bag!

Pillow Talk Lip Lustre (3.5ml): the “ICONIC, GLOBALLY-LOVED Pillow Talk shade in the sumptuous silk finish of LIP LUSTRE, for a sexy, seductive, pumped up, supermodel pout.” as quoted by the Queen Charlotte herself. Need I say more?

Not to forget the complimentary make up bag inside too. It’s so pretty. You can never have enough makeup bags!.

And also the Miniatures are a few freebies chucked in, that’s the miniature Matte Lipstick and Mini Mascara. I love all mini stuff, its so ideal to take on holiday, or weekend breaks. I Also received free samples for concealers and foundation. I’ll definitely be giving these a try. Never say no to freebies, it’s like getting extra treats!

And lastly we have the Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk (1.2g): such a beautiful shade of pinky nude, this rich and velvety formula adds to the lips you need to have that kissable pout. (with my small lips. Lip liners are a MUST!)

And the The Classic in Audrey (1.1g): the perfect eyeliner colour to define and shape the eyes.

Can I just say I’m sold!, I was sold on the box and the tissue paper to be honest(yes. tissue paper again. I have a thing for it) But yes I am SOLD.

The collection is amazing. It’s wearable, it screams quality and class, what more could I need? Valentine’s Day is coming up so I better get online and see what else Charlotte has to offer…. Also I might (just might) get the old man a treat along the way.

and the webby for this can be found here; https://www.charlottetilbury.com/uk/product/the-pillow-talk-gift-box?istCompanyId=3dfffc45-1529-45a3-a883-dba601d7c955&istFeedId=531587ba-0c6c-4397-a202-a1570efe3443&istItemId=iwltattmt&istBid=tzwt&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8Mnl8qLM5wIVCLrtCh088wz4EAQYAiABEgKjHvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Makeup Revolution London Gift box. The Perfect gift for Christmas.

I received this gift from my aunt, and was absolutely amazed by it. With Christmas coming up, it’s the absolute best to give as a gift to a makeup fiend.

Personally I’d give it a teenager who’s starting to explore the makeup field, as it covers everything, only thing missing is an eyeliner and mascara.

But this box serves everything a person could need makeup wise.

It’s by the Brand Revolution London. This box is actually the Christmas 2018 collection, but I’m sure the 2019 collection will also be out.

It’s a British brand, and known for its affordable price, yet does not lack in its quality. The brand does has a reputation of copying bigger brands and then selling at a cheaper price. As a consumer I’m not complaining.

This is what’s inside, each box clearly labelled. And here is a pic below of everything in the open.

I’ll go through it now so that you get a better idea.

Firstly there’s Three Eyeshadow palettes. The Ultra Metals and the Ultra Newtrals are in similar shades, but one is a matte and the other is on the shinier side. Both of these are in neutral shades going from cream, to pinks, and then to browns. The Third Palette is the Ultra Colour Explosion Palette- the name says is all. The Perfect colours for when you want to go all out.

Then we have the ultimate Blush dream palette. From the lighter peach and pinks to the darker fuschia colours. A shade for everyone.

A set of four mini brushes, perfect to take along in your clutch bag.

And an Ultra Strobe Balm, in 8 different shades. It also has a ultra strobe cream- which is the one I use the most.

My favourite and most used accessory. HD Pro Brows. It has 4 powders and 2 gel shadows, a concealer, wax and highlighter. I use the smaller of the brushes included in this pack for this. The powders are in different shades, so you can use the lighter shades for the ends of the brows, and the darker shades in the middle.

Three lip glosses in the most neutral colours. Really can’t go wrong with any of these.

And then we have these ( in all honesty I had to search up the uses of these. Makeup Virgin here) but I do know what they are now.

  • The Makeup fixing spray, a spray used once make up is applied fully. It puts on a protective layer which allows makeup to stay on for longer (ill prob just use this when going to weddings)
  • Focus and Fix Primer- primer for eyeshadows, to make the eyeshadow more intense and durable.
  • Ultra Strobe Cream -gives the skin a healthy glow. Can be used before foundation or standalone.
  • The Aqua Priming Base is light, and can be used with or without foundation.

Here’s the box again and yup, I agree with this quote.

As mentioned before this box is 2018 Christmas edition, but have a search around the 2019 edition is out, and I’m sure it contains very similar products. Depending on where you buy it from it ranges between £50- £80.

www.revolutionbeauty.com has loads of different gift boxes available, and there seems to be a sale on at the moment. Grab it before it goes.

That’s one person ticked off for Christmas. You can thank me later x

Love and regards

Let’s talk Lip Liners

Random thing here, woman in my late 30s going through Instagram and all I see is lips, beautiful large painted lips.

It didn’t affect me before, I understand the celebrity, Photoshopping culture, and I’m a little too old to allow it to get to me mentally…. But don’t those lips look so good?

I’m not a makeup freak- I’m old school. Foundation with the fingers at the bare minimum, eyeliner and lippy and I’m ready to go out 2 minutes later. But I’m noticing how small my lips are. I’ve never thought of them as small. I’ve never thought of them as anything apart from ‘lips’ to be honest.

But instagram is working its way into my soul now ( they do say social media is cancerous).

Back in my teenage years. When the Spice Girls were around, Lip liners were a trend. But not as we see them now. At that time they were used to line the lips, but kept at a different colour, or just line the lips and that’s all, rest stays nude.

I was a big fan of that (Guilty!) ThankGod that went away. (Although I think it’s slowey coming back)

And now in the last 2 years lip liners back, and it looks like they are here to stay thanks to Kylie ‘Lipkit’ Jenner. Have you seen her lips? (Ok it’s fillers. But still) Wooooow!

Kylie “lipkit” Jenner

And compared to her lips, mine are non existent. So I decided to jump onto the bandwagon and see if its worth the extra 1 minute of my make up routine.

The main purpose of lip liner is to stop the lipstick from bleeding, and also it makes the lipstick last longer. But I’ll be using it to outline my lips and hopefully make them look bigger and fuller.

So I got 5 of my favourite lipstick shades that I use daily. And went on a shop to get the matching lipstick liners.

I’m a big fan of Huda Lipstick. It’s my first choice for lipsticks. It’s affordable at £18, it’s long wearing, nicely pigmented, so creamy in texture, lasts for ages and comes in beautiful shades. The lip liners I bought from Primark at £1 each, and the range in colour is huge.

So here’s how my trial went :

Firstly I’m sharing a recent photo of me- with lipstick only. (Say Hello to my little bundle of joy Sabina!)

And this is me bare faced- with clear lips showing. Please excuse my lopsided face. My tooth is still aching 3 weeks on and nothing has been done yet.

So I took photos of my lips – lipstick free, then with just lipstick and then I applied lip liner on outer edge of lips, and then the lipstick- here’s how it went:

I can see a difference. Can you? And here it is again. Sideways

I’m actually quite astounded how much of a difference it has actually made. The lip liner allows me to give my lips some shape- and also they look so much more ‘louder’.

I’m loving it.

Here’s a before and after of full face. Not only do they look bigger- they also look wider.

So is this going into my routine? Hell Ye!!

I’m absolutely loving my lips. I’m actually looking back at old photos and looking at myself in mirror. I’m loving it, and so glad I got all 5 shades in.

Love and Big kisses (that will definitely leave a stain now that the lip liner is on.)
