Lets Talk Hot Drinks…. Because what better way to beat the Covid19

Every second watsapp message I get is about how warm drinks- hot drinks can kill the virus….. ahhhh if only it was that simple people!? come on lets be realistic here, we cant be having a worldwide pandemic with over 100, 000 people dead, if the cure was hot drinks.

Mama Bear rings me everyday and asks if I have had lemon water, if ive had Vitamin C tablet, if im making turmeric milk… is this an indian culture thing? Im not so sure? maybe you can tell me. Are you all going through the same thing?

But in all honesty- what wrong can a warm drink do? I love all things Tea and if a warm drink can give people hope, gives them a bit of sunshine, acts as a preventive measure then at the end of the day whether it works or not- its soothing and also make you mentally fit- whats wrong with that? Go make yourself a warm drink.

So why is there a craze for this ‘Warm Drink’ and where is it coming from;

Here comes the science bit. (Say it like the Loreal advert). Concentrate (*wink seductively*)

We know that the virus hits the lungs and sits in the sinus area, hence the dry cough and breathing difficulties. We also know for the breathing difficulties its straight to the hospital and air ventilators (which are very scarce due to amount of people needing them)- So the hot drinks are put into place so that we can keep the air passages clear and hopefully avoid the whole hospitalisation issue.

Usually the signs that coronavirus has hit are after 3-4 days, and it takes hold of the throat and sinus area which leads to the dry cough. The coolest part of body is the sinus area therefore it sits there and then aims to get into your lungs. This is actually the hardest part as this affects the breathing of a person- hence the gasping of air and need for ventilators.

We know that the virus dies in heat, so the best thing to do is to keep the throat and sinus area warm and hydrated and that is by having loads of warm fluids. (Another thing that may be helpful is nasal spray- when you dose yourself with inhaler- within a second you will feel your passages open up. Could be worth considering)

So the whole ‘Warm Fluids can kill the virus‘ may not be true but it can help in the symptoms and the easing of the symptoms within you. As with a normal flu we clear our throat with warm drinks- here the same method can be used- to stop the irratation and also ease the breathing.

Lets go through a couple of drinks as advised by mama bear and quite a few practitioners aswell (who would have thought that doctors would be telling us to go back to natural remedies?!)

Vitamin C

Firstly I just need to advise that almost everyone that is anyone is advising of Vitamin C! so get making those Fresh Orange Juices- we all have the time for it now! or if it helps then the soluble Vitamin C tablets are really good. You should be able to get them at your pharmacies.

Golden Chaii

I went into Costa Coffee once and they had a new hot drink called ‘The Golden Chaii’ – They had me at Golden!! I needed that thing…..I wanted that thing…. I needed a picture of the thing!….. and what did it turn out to be? For all my fellow indians it has ‘haider kheer’- For those that dont know ‘The Golden Chaii’ from Costa is what we have at home- and mama bear makes it in a pot when we are ill- Its a warm milky drink we have when we are sick. i.e. ‘Sick Drink’. …..’Golden Chaii’ does sound better though- but ill not be having that at Costa again. Mama makes it better! It basically is boiled milk with turmeric and honey. (add a dash of saffron if you have at home- but not necessary- makes a nicer picture) And it is so good and relieving…. (when you are ill, not when your out shopping!)

Golden Chaii Alternative

Fresh Lemon for its acidity is another thing we keep on hearing about. I make the hubby a glass of warm water with fresh lemon inside- which they enjoy- but if you are liking your golden chaii- add fresh lemon into there, add a few of the peels too! and some ground ginger. It makes for a very interesting and refreshing drink!

Lemsip Max Strength

If you do see these around whilst shopping- pick up a box or two- maybe send my way too, as im struggling to find them!…. Ok so if you get a fever whilst the coughing is going on then that means the virus has kicked in. This is where the Lemsip Max Strength will really come in use. To this add honey, ginger and a little turmeric. Because the Lemsip Max Strenght has paracetamol in it- it should help bring down the temperature and the honey, ginger and turmeric should help in clearing up the throat.

Vicks Vaporub

When we were young we use to watch ZEE TV a lot at my aunts house and I always saw the advert for this….. the theme song always rings in my head, and I always say ‘Vicks vaporub’ with a slight indian accent….. try me next time, its funny, and I cant get away from it…. Ok so this isnt exactly a drink but it may help…… Use the Vicks into boiling hot water as a steam inhaler. The Steam will get into the lungs and will help warm up sinuses, and make your throat feel less itchy. If you also have Black seed oil- add this into the water aswell- just a few drops, Its soothing effects are really good!

Ginger Water

I dont have a fancy name for this- nor a story- this is pure CoronaVirus related and hopefully only for that, because its not nice. But if it helps then its got to be done! Peel Ginger and add to Boiling water. Allow the water to boil for 10 minutes and have it as a hot drink. Eating the pieces of ginger afterwards are really good too- if you can stomach it. ( This one is for me is ‘IF all else fails’).

Lemon Water

Ok so I have a little on this earlier but here is a bit more….cut up slices of lemon in boiling water. The hot water will turn it into an alkaline which is good for the ph balance and good for fighting off the virus. There are also further benefits of lemon which also regulates the bloodpressure, reduce blood clotting , and helps in regulating blood circulation. Which is all good- especially if your having anxiety or panic attacks.

Black Seed Oil

Have I gone through the benefits of this hidden little secret? The reason why I call it a secret is because- this little miracle in a bottle has so many benefits, yet it is widely ignored. Search it up on Google. It really is miracle.

So how to use it?

as I mentioned before- you can inhale it with steam. Or we add it to a hot coal and allow the steam to float around the house which is another form of inhalation

Also add it to your honey and lemon drinks and drink it, Or just add it to a spoonful of honey and lemon and swallow it- youll feel the soothing of the throat straight away.

And guys dont feel nervous to experiment- I add some mint to my drinks, to make them more digestable, and a mint tea bag, or anything you’d like, keep it warm and try and keep the main ingredients in- like honey, turmeric, ginger and lemon.

And lastly Exercising and eating healthy food whilst in quarantine is important because it strengthens the immune system, and to fight the virus you need a good and strong immune system. I know its hard and all to easy to grab the packet of crisps but do try to avoid it.

**Pease note I am not a doctor or practitioner and that this is not medication for the coronavirus- it will not cure the virus, it can just help with the breathing and keeping the air passages clear so that you dont struggle with breathing. If conditions do get worse. Seek help with 111.

Hope you guys benefit from the above.

Stay safe, Stay Indoors

Chocolate Cake in a Mug

Well the Lock down has us all going a bit doo lah lah, but me especially…. I was craving Chocolate Cake…… I don’t Evan like Cake.

Since September of last year- in the magnificent pre-corona days. I promised myself that I would never bake again, because I was done, I had baked 7 years non stop, not a day had gone past in those 7 years where I didn’t see flour, sugars and eggs and I was done……

but today I just…… wanted cake, not any cake, but it was chocolate cake, a deep rich moist chocolate cake, but………without wanting to go through the whole process of making a full on cake.

I am still not ready to switch on the oven, i’m still not mentally able to go near that thing. Its like a monster that sits in that corner…. its too damn big and heavy otherwise I would’ve lifted it up and chucked it away, but then i’ll also be left with a gaping hole in the middle of my kitchen…..first world struggles (seriously any distraction from corona is a blessing, no matter how big or small).

So how was I going to satisfy my craving? well easy, peasy (lemon squeezy) did i just say that? Yes. Yes. I did. (doo-lah-lah days officially here and we haven’t even been on lock down for a full week yet)

Introducing The Chocolate Cake in the Mug (Its really not my idea, I didn’t invent it, but I made it, so I will blog it) and by the way do this with the kids, its easy peasy lemon squeezy (*oh God, really? Again? really?*)

You will need:

  • 4 Tablespoon Self Raising Flour
  • 5 Tablespoon Caster Suger
  • 1 tablespoon Cocoa Powder
  • 1 Egg
  • 3 Tablespoon Milk
  • 3 Tablespoon Oil
  • Chocolate chips (as desired)
  • Mug
  • Microwave (no damn Oven! *does a twirl*)

And heres how its done:

Choose your favourite mug, (it has to be a big one, as this beast of a chocolate cake will rise).

Put all the dry ingredients into the mug and mix together. That’s the Flour, the suger and the cocoa powder.

Add the wet ones one at a time and mix throughly. I added the egg first, then the milk and lastly the oil. Mix this until you get a creamy consistency.

Add choc chips to your desired taste

Put the mug in the middle of the microwave, and set the temperature to high and set it to 1.30 mins (allow another 20 secs if needed)

and voila, your chocolate cake is ready,

And its yum, and moist (and if you dont do the 20 seconds its also gooey in the middle, I like batter …. Shhhh…. That’s a secret nobody should disclose.)

Try it out, and don’t forget to share your pics and tag me on them

Love and regards. Stay Safe, stay Indoors and keep washing your hands.

{Collab} I tried out Hello Body Coco Skincare Range

{Collab} Psssst…. whos struggling with their skin? Do you like all things natural? Is your skin drying up with this cold and dry unpredictable British weather? struggling to find the right products?

When I received my Hello Body Coco Skincare products, I was hesitant, abit curious, excited and intrigued. Having been chosen as an ambassador (super super excited. eeeeeeeeek) I had to make sure that the products worked for me, before I could share with you all.

I received my products just under two weeks ago. (How stinking cute is the packaging?. I love all things cute!) …. and I have been using them since, and so far……. I am in Love.

Abit about Hello Body- “Natural is Glamorous’

Need I say more?….

Now dont misunderstand me, I love makeup, I love looking the ‘extra‘. but that exactly what make up is for me, ‘Extra‘ for everyday I prefer to look…… well like myself. And Hello Body promotes that loud and clear.

“Natural is Glamorous

Lets take a look at the products:

Hello Body offers 3 ranges in their products, the Coco range, the Cara range and the Aloe Range. I will be reviewing the Coco face Products range.

Coco Fresh Detox Face Cleansing Foam

Soapy and foamy, I put two squirts on my hand, and it was toooo much, way too much. It lathered into my skin, and made it feel all sorts of soft. I instantly fell in love with this

Coco French Pink Clay Mask

How creamy is the mask? Its thick and creamy exactly as a mask should be, it smooths so well into the skin, and really, initially it stung- I got worried, I felt a panic, I thought of taking it off, and then after a couple of seconds the cooling sensation came in.

removal of the mask was quick and easy, and my skin felt really soft and clean, like my pores had been emptied. I wont lie on removal my face was still a slight pink in colour, but 5 minutes after all of came back to normal.

Coco Detox Daily Face Cream

I have been using this daily and it really acts as both a brightener and a moisturiser, the milky smell of almond and coconut feels very theraupeutic. This is one product i hide from the hubby because he too is obsessed over it. It keeps my skin hydrated all day long.

Coco soft Detox Night Facial Cream ,

Very similer to the day cream but more thicker in consistency to add the depth into the night, I love ending my night with this product. In the morning my face still has a moisturised feel to it, and altogether it feel more brighter.

As an ambassador Im very pleased to tell you all that you can use my very own code to get discount on your products.

DIY your own ‘House Warming’ Hamper

My friend bought her first home, and to celebrate this she invited the girlies over to a dinner party.

Knowing that I cant go empty handed I decided to look around for a house warming gift, but the problem here was I didnt have a clue what her house looked like, or what colours she had gone for.

I didnt want to be in a positon where I bought her a vase, or a tableware set and she would put it as far back in her cupboard as seemingly possible, so that her hands never come across it….. (come on we have all been there with gifts we dont …..really use or like)

so the one thing I did think of is a hamper, the thing I love about hampers is that, theres so many things to it, you can just keep adding, and you can choose what you want to give, so customise it to your own… or their preference…

I had a look at a few ready made hampers, and then decided ‘hold on- I can do this myself’.… and I did… and now ill share it with you all….

1. Buying the Products

The first thing is buying the products, since its a new home, I thought of candles (no body says no to candles) diffusers (nobody says no to diffusers) chocolates (nobody says no to chocolates) sweets (nobody says…. you get me right?) drinks( nobody says…. ok ok. im stopping now!) and generally leaning towards that kind of stuff. So themeing it according to event is important… so baby shower would hold different things, as would a hens night.

Here are a few products I bought

2. Colour Co-ord

Colour coordination makes a difference, seriously it does, notice online, how the hampers with similer colours look so much more better and ……’together’ then the ones that are just bunged together. Not that theres anything wrong with the others…. just it looks better for sure. But you know your friend/family better and do what you think is best.

as you can see I have stuck to pink and golds

3. Basket

It doesn’t have to be a basket, it can be a board, like a cake board, it can be a box, evan a general shoe box would work, just make sure you cover it well. All you need is something to chuck all your things into! and that something… just has to be preety…. ok? make sure its preety…. do not put it all in a carrier bag! please DO NOT, unless you dont like him/her, then ill give you permission. (*eye wink).

I used a wired basket -these things are preety, they are handy and because they are see through, you dont need to worry about the contents drowning into your hamper.

4. Doublesided Tape

Always have this ready! It is needed to put everything together in the end…

5. Tricks

The best way to do it is, choose a front…. once you have chosen what you want at the front, take all the longer items and put them first at the back, and then the smaller items at the front so that each item can be seen, whether that be just the tops coming out or through the wired basket in my case. The same rule applies if you have chosen a closed basket/box, make sure the bigger and taller items are at the back, and sit the smaller ones on top or at the front so that everything can be seen.

Heres a quick video of how I did mine

6. Rules

There are none, as you can see evan I took out and put back items, keep doing it until you feel it is right. Its ok to put things on top of each other

Make sure you ‘jiggle’ the contents, see what’s wobbling and tape it on.

Get the girls together and share the cost, you can make the hamper bigger and better this way.

7. Take pictures

Take loads of pictures because it’s so damn pretty.

Don’t forget to share your creation when you make them.

{Collab} I tried out “Shafs Beauty” new Organic Skin Care Range….

If you guys follow me on Instagram then you will know how much I have been suffering from dry skin recently.

With the weather being generally grey and dull, my face is drying out, and I’m getting dry flaky and sore patches everywhere.

I’ve not really ever had bad skin, I’ve been one of those lucky people who have gone through life without worrying about dry skin, spots, pimples or dark areas…. But in the last few years things have started to change.

As I age I’ve had to start using make up, to cover up any blemishes or flaws…. But still I refused to believe the ageing game… I refused to use products or look after myself…. I mean I don’t need it? I’ve got great skin….

….but now it’s caught up with me, it’s time for me accept that I am no longer 20 (that hurts) and things will change. In honesty I’m really grateful it lasted this long…. But the only problem now is that I don’t know where to start….

I went into debenhams… And I stood there, not knowing where to go and who to try, overwhelmed with the amount of advice, freebies and general advice I was given by all the stores I went home with nothing.

Speaking to my beautician of 15 years of my problems, she introduced me to her own range of products. Having had recently started her own skincare brand, she gave me a mini facial whilst I was there. ( I mean. Who says no to freebies?)

She went through each product she used and asked me loads of questions about my skin to determine what I needed.( In all honestly, knowing me for 15 years- she instantly knew what I needed.)

And she packed up a bag full of products for me to try at home.

I love the whole look of the products, they are simple and stylish.

Cream Cleanser: It’s a Grapefruit, Lavender and Frankincense cream cleaner. I’ve not been using make up recently because of my dry skin it looks awful on, the dry patches show up more, and it looks patchy, but just using the cleanser made my skin feel more supple and soft. You can smell the hint of the Grapefruit and Lavender on application. Almost smells of fresh laundry ( I love the smell of fresh laundry) and Lavender always reminds me of spa days, I’m sure spas use Lavender to relax people.

Face Mask: Well as soon as you open it you can smell the apple, it smells lush. Granny Smith’s for sure. And the mask goes a long way, I only applied it twice, and it spreads so easily over the face, you only need a tiny amount, which is well worth the money. Also it smells so ….fresh, Apple fresh.

And here’s a selfie to show how creamy the face mask is. The Face mask worked wonders, on removal I already felt like I was washing away the impurities on my face. My face felt creamy and soft, and the fresh smell of the Apple lingered.

Next I used the Brightening Serum, it’s a very concentrated serum, but a small amount covers the face. After applying it- you have to dab your face with your fingers to allow the serum to penetrate into the pores. The smell of the Orange was intoxicating. There’s definately something about the smell of fruits that make you feel…. Healthy, and this was working for me.

And lastly the Moisturiser. A thick and rich consistency. With Geranium extract. Exactly what I needed. Geranium is known to help with the tightening of tissues on the face muscles. On applying this I automatically felt the contracting of the face, especially on my cheekbones, and it felt good. This is by far my favourite of the whole brand.

I’ve now been using Shafs products for just 10 days, and I’m already finding a difference in the overall look of my skin and my face, the flaky dryness has gone, and my skin no longer looks tired or grey. It actually illuminates…

Please do ignore that lump on the side of my face. My tooth problem have left a souvenir for me on one side of my face!

My skin also feels soft, and airy, previously it ached and the dry patches were turning red and sore. These products are a definate winner for me, and will be staying in my new ‘looking after myself‘ drawer…. Honestly my skin hasn’t felt like this in a long time.

For the products heres the Webby: http://www.shafsbeauty.co.uk

(Transparency: I have reviewed these products myself for 10 days and I am giving my honest opinion and review on them.)

Dining in an Igloo. The Waterfront- Market Harbrough.

We have had quite a bit of trouble trying to book the igloos in London for Christmas or new year’s. Every Year- we sit tapping on our laptops and smart phones, constantly refreshing the page to try and get a booking in. It almost always crashes and leaves us all annoyed, angry and overwhelmed. (This is the 2000’s baby- patience and tolerance went when dial up internet went)

So when this advert popped up in the local newspaper. We were stumped. Here we are trying every year without fail (actually with fail) to book us into igloos all the way in London, when half an hours drive away we have igloos off our own!

OK yes, I know Market Harbroough is no London, and the view of River Thames is River Thames- but we weren’t getting anywhere with that 2 years in row…… So this seemed ideal. It’s round the corner, it’s a fraction of a price and its an igloo…thats 3 check boxes ticked.

So how did the booking go? Well…. It was Christmas time, so as you can imagine it was exactly the same! The page kept crashing. And we struggled… But we preserveered and in the end. One day, one lucky day, one seriously lucky damn day- I managed to get through to them by phone! But…. Yup as expected they were fully booked, and afternoon tea was booked all the way to Feb ( I love afternoon tea, i was so wounded) , but we decided on lunch instead, and they managed to slot us in early January…. Wahey! Finally!! We were going in an igloo!

The Waterfront is a British restaurant/pub in Market Harborough, and at the back of this restaurant facing the Canal basin at Union Wharf, are these two beautiful Igloos for dining. It is just the perfect spot, its a mini version of the River Thames… actually maybe a minute version…..oh Sod it! its not the Thames or London at all, BUT its so damn cute and picteresque.

And tell me how preety this is? Go on say it….. ok ill say it, its so preety!…. isnt it so preety?

Inside the Igloo its all snuggly and cute. It has a dyson heater inside so its nice and warm, blankets are available to get evan more snuggled up. We got our own dedicated Waitor, who we can call with a remote device whenever needed, so we didn’t have to get up and go inside once snuggled in

We were also given a bluetooth speaker which we synced with our phones so we had our own choice of music on, which was definately a special feature. All these little details made the day so special.

And now for the Food; we started off with theses non alcoholic mocktails, Mixed Berry Refreshers which were quite nice to be honest. Really Impressed with it…… and heres a cheer to the day….

For the Food we had to go for the Vegetarian/Fish options. The menu did have a few options available, and we did ask the waitor to make sure no alcohol was in the food aswell. He made sure the request was put to the chef, and came back and advised us what we should go for.

…..whilst we waited for our food…… its selfie time….and here we are. The Golden Girls, off on one of our many adventures;

And heres what we ordered; The Vegetarian Platter Grazing Board, the Boathouse Luxary Fish Pie, and the Parmesan and Herb Crusted Sea Bass fillet. And for dessert we had Chocolate Brownie.

And all of it was devoured. It was really good and served Warm. The Fish pie was so creamy and filling. and the brownie ending our day just right.

All in all our experience was amazing, the staff were attentive to our needs, the hidden extras were a bonus to the day and I loved that we were cooped up inside this igloo, where we were allowed to laugh as loud as we want without having to worry about disturbing anyone else.

The deposit of securing this igloo is at £5 per person and then we pay for whatever food we order, and truly it is worth a visit. Get booking people heres the webby: https://waterfrontharborough.co.uk/

I know I will be going back, hopefully for the afternoon tea this time.

And now its time to say goodbye; and here is one last pic in the evening, where it looks evan more beautiful all lit up,

And One last selfie from The Golden Girls: ” To Love, To Laughter, To Happily Ever After”

Eden Hall Spa

You guys know I Love Tea right? And Afternoon Tea in particuler? Urm….and I love spas… That’s silly, who doesn’t love spas?….

….so when I saw the Cream Tea Spa day at Eden Hall, well… it would be rude of me not to book it in…

Based only 30 minute drive away me and my little bundle of joy Sabina jumped into the car and made our way to Eden Hall for a day of total detox.

Well, what does this day include?

Its basically a full day to use Edens Halls facilities, which include the vitality pools, outdoor hot tubs and the various thermal rooms. We also have access to the gym, the relaxation rooms, and any additional classes they have going on the day. Lunch is included, as is robe and towels and we get a traditional afternoon tea with scones served in the conservatory.

The facilities can be used from 9am to 8pm

Knowing that we had the whole day to indulge, we left home just after 10.

On arrival we were overwhelmed by the size of the place, it is huge and beautiful and grand.

On entrance we were greeted by a lovely lady who took us around the whole venue, explaining everything in great detail, including, when the building was built, who lived in it, which room was used for what porpose…etc (all of which went in one ear and out of the other) but the thing that did remain is- that this was once a family home!…. I will say it again, one family lived in this entire place! have you seen how big it is? we got lost on so many occasions, and ONE family lived in here!!

We were booked in for lunch at 12.20, since it was nearly 11, we requested to have lunch first before we went into the spa, so that it doesnt interfere with our day. They kindly said they would arrange something, and if we would just change and then make our way down to the dining area once done.

The changing rooms are so spacious. You could get lost just in here, (did I mention a family lived here?). There’s large area for changing, and separate room for grooming, which have mirrors and hairdryers. There’s immense number of showers and the showers all have shampoos, conditioners and shower gels. So mine were kept in my bag.

We made our way back to the cosy dining rooms with our robes and slippers, The dining area is composed of small rooms all set up with tables and chairs, (you could actually tell here that it was a lived in house), and we were set up in the actual living room.

Lunch consisted of a selection of salads for starters, from the Veg option we went for the grilled Halloumi with rocket and watercress salad, roasted tomato, red onion and a sweet chilli dressing. And for dessert I went for the Lemon Posset with shortbread biscuit which was divine.

after this we made our way back down through the preety corridors to the spa, and time now to relax.

On entrance we are given a list of what to expect at the spa, and as you can see it truly is a unique experience. Anything that has the words cool, and cold were avoided!

My favourite; the Heat, Tropical and Cool Mist Experience- Ok I did say I avoided anything with cool and cold in it, and I did, but here I went in by mistake, had cool water poured on me, screamed and ran out! After that, I avoided it like the plague! (I dont do cold at all. Ever! and Storm Ciara is screaming outside so im trying to focus all my energy into you guys!)

The Heat and Tropical mist, was amazing, its a walk in shower like feature, you walk through these panels and when it senses your movement the showers open up, and the lights really put you into a different zone. I couldve sat here all day, but it wasnt a sitting feature unfortunately….

But there was a sitting feature which we both loved and that was the Foot and Shoulder massage seat. That truly made our day. We spent most of our time here. Its not one to be missed.

From the rooms experience, although all of them were great, my favourite has to be the salt room, probably because out of all the rooms it was the warmest, but also because of the brittle air you can almost feel the dirt and toxins etching away from your skin.

After having used the rooms to the fullest, we decided to catch abit of an afternoon nap, and the Eden Hall Day Spa Slumber lounge is the perfect spot for this. A room full of slumber beds, some single, some doubles and the best part, this:

The Hanging Pods, How cool are they? just the right amount of space for two people (I need one at home!!!). And there are baskets at every corner with blankets to get all cosy and snuggled up with. Me and sabina are quite use to snuggling up (shes going to kill me for this!) because she somehow always ends up getting us a double bed on our travels (hahahaha. Im dying!) so we jumped in. But shes a giggler and soon after a few people coughed, we knew we had to run out from there….. the only thing is we were booked in for the meditation class next,

The 3 seconds we didn’t laugh.

The meditation class ended up being a laughing class (I dont evan know what we were laughing about honestly) but we all walked out holding our sides because of stitches , that included our instructor, who ended up with more giggles than us. Thanking her though, because I really thought we were going to be kicked out. (I felt like a naughty teenager!). But we started something in that class. Im really sure Eden Hall will be looking at laughing classes to add to there list of classes soon.

Before we retired to our Afternoon tea, we headed straight to the outdoor jacuzzi’s and they were amazing. The heat of the water so warm you dont evan realise you are outside. We stayed in there until we were crinkly.

Now when you think of a spa- you always think of all the rooms, the treatments and the pool, but the one thing that made this spa experience different was the extras. After having used the facilities to our upmost we decided to head to the conservatory for our afternoon tea. This is part of the New Eden Hall, and the set up is beautiful. They have comfortable sofas that dig your body right into them, there are magazines available to read, blankets ready and waiting to devour your body and also HOT WATER BOTTLES!!! That the WINNER for me!!!. Here we were given our tea and scones and just unwinded evan more than in the spa. I should really really live here!

Leaving the place, I had to look back at this beauty one last time, it was such an amazing and relaxing day. It was sad to be leaving. I would love to stay here (Forever). It has to be one of the best spas I have been to, and I really do think other spas will struggle to try and compete with this. A day full of pure relaxtation, it would make a perfect valentine, mothers day, birthday gift for anyone.

Or like Me, Just treat Yourself. Everyone deserves that.

To book in here’s the webby : https://baronseden.com/eden-hall/blog

Hope you enjoyed our day with us.

Nutella and Strawberry French Toast Rolls

Who likes strawberries? Me!

Who likes Nutella? Me!!

Who like French toast? Me! Me! Me!

Who like French toast with Nutella and Strawberries?….. drooooooool!!!!

……Oh you do too? Sorry couldn’t hear you, I was getting too excited..

Ok, so when I think of French toast… its breakfast right?

and then Nutella? well thats got to be a dessert, right?

So where do these roll ups fit in? well ….my answer….” Anywhere you damn well want! just eat them!!! ALL!! By yourself! DO NOT SHARE!”. For breakfast, lunch and Dinner, and everything in between aswell!

Thats what I did. Im sorry, you can just salivate on the photos, and im really sorry to my dentist the most, it was one day of pure indulgence, I will behave from today onwards. I promise.

So here is how to make these little indulgences.

Its the most easiest and quickest thing ever…. it took me longer to write this blog up!!

So here goes; You will need:

  • 6 Bread Slices
  • Nutella
  • Strawberries (chopped up)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tablespoon Milk
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 1.4 cup Suger
  • 2 Teaspoon Cinnamon Powder

And heres what to do with it All;

  • Remove the crust of the Bread Slices
  • Roll out and flatten Bread with Rolling Pin
  • Layer Bread with Nutella and add few peices of chopped Strawberries on one end
  • And roll up the Bread, (the Nutella will hold the Roll in shape)

  • Add Butter to a frying pan on medium heat
  • Whisk Egge and milk together
  • Dip a roll to the egg mixture, and fry in frying pan
  • Once fried (usually takes 2/3 minutes max) dip into a bowl of mixed suger and cinnamon, covering it completely

And Voila, it is ready to Eat, or Devour as I did

Just how yummy does this look?

Damn I need to make more…..Jetting off to the kitchen now…… Im thinking…. Lotus and Banana and Cream Cheese!….. Oh Yum! (Sorry Dentist- THIS is the last time. I PROMISE)

Let me know how it goes when you make yours!

Love and regards

24 hours in Dubai

Whilst in India we felt like Kings (Im the only female so I always refer to the more masculine words when Im on holiday) with people more interested in us, and our lifestyle. The Hospitality and service was second to none. We were treated almost like royals, everyone coming to our beck and call, whether that be the taxi driver or the concierge or the ‘chaiiwala’

Once we landed in Dubai, we asked the dude that picked us up from the Airport to stop at a supermarket and ATM if possible. He said there’s None! My hubby asked again, he said “Are you saying there’s no supermarket or ATM on the way to hotel?”. He responded “No”. My husband asked for the third time- “Are you telling me that in our half hour drive, we will not Evan have a fuel pump?” He answered, “Buy from your hotel”.

Welcome to Dubai People.

Our last 24 hours, and I don’t really know how we managed so much, and ate so much, I feel bloated just writing about it. Seriously the way we went, anyone would think we were given the last 24 hours to live! But hey we sure did pack our day full, to a point where the journey back home on the plane felt like a relief.

Having already been to Dubai, (this is our third time) we have pretty much covered a lot of the touristy things on previous occasions. (Which I do need to do a quick blog about, especially for the kids because there’s a lot to do.) So this time it was just about enjoying the luxaries of Dubai, and eating loads to put away in the reserve for when we start our diets when we get back home (We still doing that, I promise…..maybe after our next holiday?!)

So what did we do?

PF Changs

We landed early evening in Dubai, and as soon as we had deposited our bags, we head off to ‘The Dubai Mall’ for a bite to eat. We really enjoyed PF Changs the last time we came, so this was our first pit stop.

We ordered the Dynamite shrimps, because without this picture you were never there!…

We also ordered Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Sesame Chicken with Plain Noodles, and Kung Pao Chicken with rice on the side.

And we got a table outside so that we could get to see the Dubai fountains whilst we enjoyed our food.

Dubai Fountains and Burj Khalifa

After our meal we walked outside the mall, and watched the famous Dubai fountain show……., because once again if you don’t snap it, you were never there.

Feeling extremely shattered from our flight, we headed off to our Hotel. This time we were adamant to wake up early, have breakfast and make the most of the little hours we had here.

Views from our Hotel

With the boys tucked up in bed, the hubby and I enjoyed the beautiful views from our balcony whilst having tea. Yup tea. We don’t function without it….. And just how beautiful is this view!! It’s mesmerising!

View in morning.

The next morning, bright and early. We made it to breakfast!! Straight after because the elder boy was still snoring we headed off to the pool…. Where I captured this selfie, which I’m extremely proud off. Selfie game strong! (I just deleted the 50 pics before)

Pappa Roti

Once the kid woke up, he had an empty stomach, so we headed off to Pappa Roti. Based at The Walk in JBR, it’s just a 5 minute walk away from our hotel.

These flavoured buns are just divine and melt in the mouth. We chose nutella, cinnamon, lotus and caramel and all of them were divine. And really filling also.

Alongside this we had cold drinks, It’s always virgin mojito for me, and the boys went for their smoothies. Evan this was luscious!

JBR

Further down on the same path we come to JBR Beach, having had seen loads of beaches in India, we just walked up and down, and took photos.

We had decided on another boat trip…. Until we saw this…

Flying Cup

Dining in the sky.

A slow ride up 40 meters in the air, and then you are spun round (gently) while you enjoy your snacks and drinks and enjoy the view of Dubai.

I was absolutely ecstatic to do this. Back at home I keep on going on the ‘London in the Sky’ website, I haven’t booked it yet, purely because the weather is unpredictable, and the last thing I want it to be in the sky whilst the rain is pouring down and freezing cold.

Also this is something I wouldn’t usually do with the men in my life, they are all ‘safe’ people and prefer their own feet being firmly on the ground, whilst I’m happy to jump off the Eiffel tower. (If they let me). But for me they held their breath and prayed for their lives.

Up in the air. Dudes holding on.
Fam -a -lam
Don’t look down. Your feet will be dangling, adding to the thrill.
Spotted. Burj- al-arab from the sky.

This had to be the highlight of my whole trip.

After this we headed off to the Dubai Mall again, the boys wanted to do a spot of shopping because in India they found nothing…

Dubai Mall

And the highlight for the boys….. Balmain at Dubai Mall had 70% off.

And boy did they shop….

And now the boys also had souvenirs for themselves to take home.

Patchi

It’s really difficult to bring back souvenirs for everyone at home, the families are growing and also we get everything back at home, so nothing feels new. But one thing that I knew everyone would love is Patchi chocolate.

Patchi is a luxury brand of chocolate, and just to experience the shop is amazing, they have a variety of chocolate flavours on offer.

My favourite part, this wall of chocolate drawers. I NEED this in my life. (I don’t even like chocolate!)

I fell in love. It’s amazing. I wanted a go, but only thing I got is a photo.

We got a mixture packed up in each box, one for each family.

Dubai Marina

Our evening was spent at the beautiful Marina, we walked the beautiful stretch here.

Until we got to Nandos.

Nandos

Yup. Nando’s! Because we can’t have it back at home because it’s not Halal. I’ve always had the pitta with the chicken fillet and pineapple…. But unfortunately they didn’t have it in the menu…. Actually the menu has changed so much so I was disappointed and yet excited as well.

I ended up getting the chicken strips with pineapple on the ends, and it comes with hummus and nan, which was really refreshing.

The boys went for wings and chicken fillets with rice….

And the Dude…. Chicken pieces with rice and veg…. His last meal whilst on holiday and he has decided to start his diet.

Once we were full, we left sweet Dubai and made out way to the airport. Our last haul back home.

And that’s the end of our trip. Goa, Mumbai and Dubai all wrapped up. And what an amazing trip it was. No regrets over it what so ever, we have actually decided that we will step out of our comfort zone more often, as this experience may have been daunting initially, but turned out to be the best trip so far.

Hope u enjoyed our trip with us x

Im going India- Mumbai

The most busiest Place I have ever been to is London. Always London, have you guys been on the underground? with my height 5’3, I’m always just under someones underarms, or worse. Seriously London is crazy, its manic, its busy, its fast paced, its chaos, its everything I love and hate at the same time…. that was up untill I landed in Mumbai.

Mumbai Oh Mumbai. …. Its madness, its crazy, its manic, its busy, its fast paced, its chaos- (im sure Ive used all these words before), its preety, its dirty, its smelly, its all things I love and hate at the same time.

Their is no place like Mumbai- did I mention we landed at 5am- Mumbai Time, and its chaotic! Does Mumbai sleep?

By the way- before I continue I need to do a quick shoutout to Southhall travel! www.southalltravel.co.uk Have you ever been on holiday and your flight gets delayed? and your stuck in the airport for hours on end (me, me, me). Well that would’ve happened (again) if we didnt get a call from Southhall Travel- who advised us that our flights been delayed and that we neednt go too early to the airport (who does that!!! Southhall travel do that!! Just how precious is that!!) Honestly they deserve a 100/10 for that. Yup you saw it correctly Im giving them a 100/10 because that is customer service on another level!

Our stay in Mumbai was once again Novotel on Juhu Beach, by the way, this hotel is round the corner from Amitabh Bachans house (evan I know who he is!)

And since we got there at 6 am-although we were tired, and jetlagged, and needed bed…..we made it in time for our first breakfast whilst in India!!! (because we were awake and breakfast starts at 6am. But lets not focus on that….. Then we went to sleep straight after and woke up at our usual time of afternoon. ***rolls eye***).

My oh My. What a breakfast, I got my Idli and Sambhar, Indian tea, Aloo Paratha, and ended it with a fresh Donut with Cinnamon and Suger, and the sleep afterwards was heaven.

First thing we did!? its India. We jumped on a Ricksaw….

Ricksaw Riding

( I’ve got to learn to smile in photos!)

Juhu Beach

In our ricksaw we went straight to Juhu beach- (the busy part) where we dropped off to have Pav Bhajii on the beach (and im getting frustrated as I cant find the damn photo!) By the way about Juhu Beach- is just that, its a beach, theres no sunbathing going on, no sitting around on sunbeds, or taking in the sun….. its actually filthy, the water is so dirty…. so dirty. The famous Juhu beach -the difference between city and country so apparent here straight away.

Night time at Juhu beach.

The Gateway Of India

One of the most historic tourist places in India, this huge structure was built in 1911 to welcome the King and Queen of England. Because it is a tourist attractions, its busy all the time, and there are loads of street vendors around.

Set over the Arabian Sea, its beautiful to look at, and take photos

The Famous Taj Palace

Sits opposite The Gateway of India, and what a beauty it is. Built in 1903 it is heritage 5 Star hotel visited by celebrities. It is also the main site targeted in the Mumbai Attacks in 2008.

Celebrity Houses

After this we were taken to a couple of Indias celebrity/superstar houses, naturally gated up, so we just took glimpses from outside.

Shah Rukh khan’s house behind this gate
First floor of this apartment is Salman Khans

After this we kind of gave up taking photos. I didn’t really know any other actors, and all we can really see are gates and in all honestly even if any of the actors were to come out- I would be none the wiser.

Elco Veg Restaurant

The amount of people that told me to go here for the Pani Puri. It needed to be ticked off on the diary.

I wanted Pani Puri, but didn’t realise I would have to eat it out of the man’s hand…..first time for everything. I guess.

It was divine! Absolute yum. And it was so weird just seeing people come past, take Pani Puri off the man, eat in front of him, pay him and walk away. After the boys saw me, they decided it’s not for them though. They missed out!

Mohammed Ali Road

The famous Mohammed Ali road. A road very famous for its food. You can smell the kebabs and the tikkas from afar. Shop after shop offers food. No one can say they were left hungry here. The variety of food is immense, and then you also get the shop stalls with the traditional churrus (bangles) and Indian jewellery in between. We didn’t come out here, but it’s on our to do list for next time for sure. The road goes on and on, and so do the people, there’s hounds of them. I think it’ll be a challenge to get through. Something I’m looking forward to.

Shiv Sagar

One of the oldest and most popular restaurants in Juhu. Set just across Juhu beach, full of locals and foreigners. We couldn’t go back home without saying we hadn’t eaten here, and there’s a reason for that. The food is amazing. It is pure veg, and finger licking. I went for the masala dosa (as I always do) and the men in my life, had chilli chips, dhaal makhani and nans. And it was devoured

Arab Street

Just round the corner from. The Taj Hotel, you get Arab Street. Another street just like Mohammed Ali Road, but you see a lot of arabs here, also Arabian food stalls and restaurants and not to forget….. Gold shops.

It actually reminded us of Makkah. It really felt as though we were transported there. We chose a restaurant to eat at, and devoured finger licking Arab food (I must get my phone in order. Can’t find the damn pics!!).

Last Bhel at the Airport

How did we end our trip? Well next up was Dubai, so that’s a goodbye to veg food, so we said our goodbye to Mumbai by ordering bhel puri at the airport. (Honestly street food is far better.)

And that’s Mumbai all wrapped up. Would I go again? Yup. I really don’t think I’ve seen anything yet. Two days definitely isn’t enough, it felt like such a short and packed visit.

I absolutely loved jumping from one ricksaw to another, and when you have awesome food- it makes the whole trip far better and obviously the well needed top up of Vitamin D

Hope you enjoyed our little journey,

Moving on to Dubai next. Do join me.

Love and regards
