Chocolate Banana Croissant French Toast

So many delicious words in one recipe! Its the month of Ramadhan, we are in lockdown, we are fasting, we are stuck at home. I really shouldnt be talking about food but…… I mean if I dont talk about food, what other topic is their?

Am I finding Ramadhan hard- in all honesty No, but everyone craves, I crave evan after I’ve eaten, so if you havent eaten, I dont need to tell you what the cravings are like…..

Dalgona Coffee was a hit, Rose Dalgona hit us one better, everyones competing with each other over french toast… and now I give you the ‘Chocolate Banana Croissant French Toast’…. it sounds like all of the above rolled into one. No?

And here it is:

Is it good? Oh Damn Good. We have it for Sehri, (meal before sunrise) so if you follow me on instagram youll find it under ‘Sehri Diaries’. If you dont follow me.. what are you waiting for? its just here.

You will need:

  • Croissants 3/4
  • Bananas 2 chopped
  • Nutella
  • Milk 2 tablespoon
  • 2 Eggs
  • A Dollop of Butter
  • A Dollop of Ghee
  • Handful of Suger
  • Half a teaspoon of Cinnamon
  • Freshcream – I use the Squirty one
  • Strawberries (if desired)
  • Icecream (if desired)

And heres what to do with it:

Chop up the bananas and caremelise in frying pan on low heat with ghee and suger.

Cut the croissants in half, spread a dollop (I like this word) of nutella inside and add in the caremalised banana (you can add strawberries in this too)

Make your egg and milk mixture, by whisking milk, egg, cinnamon and a little suger

Dip your filled croissant into the mixture and fry on low heat in ‘dollop’ of butter. And once fried, put suger all over

And serve with cream on the side, or evan icecream, and decorate with remainder banana or strawberries.

What a treat for sehri! We love it, Im sure you will too. Try it out and dont forget to send a pic of yours.

Cant wait to see your creations

Stay Safe, Stay Indoors

Love and regards

My Favourite Afternoon Tea Spots in the Midlands

I dont really know how or when I actually got into Afternoon teas. Ive always been a Tea Lover, I probably go through the day with atleast a dozen cups, its a fix for me. (and I wonder why my face is forever dehydrated). But what I do know is, since my first Afternoon tea, I was hooked. This was going to be a part of my lifestyle for sure.

In the last Decade the popularity of Afternoon Tea has grown. Initially being just for the older British generation, it now appeals to the younger generation, especially because its changed in focus. Its Quirky, its cute, its preety, and it is offered in the most picteresque locations from castles in middle of fields to the coffee shop’s next door. And its not just Tea and scones you are getting, as the list of delights in the menu of Afternoon Tea keep on increasing(no complaints from me).

Im always being asked by friends and family or general people who follow me on insta where a good afternoon tea spot is, so in Todays blog I will share with you some of my favourite Afternoon tea spots locally…. locally meaning the East Midlands, just a drive away from me guys,

1. Stapleford Park

A Grand Country House hotel, One of my most favourite and memorable Afternoon Teas EVER. This is a must for the best of the experiences. This Hotel sits in the middle of 500 acres of gardens and grounds. And it is glorious. Both inside and outside. If anyone asks me about Afternoon Tea, this is usually off the tip of my tongue.

We were greated at reception and were seated in what seemed like a large living area, full of beautiful sofas, couches, and some dining seats. For ourselves we were given a couch. I couldnt be more pleased.

The vegetarian sandwiches were delightful, the scones were fresh, warm and soft, generous portions of jam and cream were given, by far one of my best experiences.

What I loved the most, the quirkiest little details, like ‘Ring for Service’ button, the fireplaces, the piano… all for pictures…and I love photos!

Traditional Afternoon tea at Stapleford Park is £27.50 per person

Here’s the Webby: https://www.staplefordpark.com

2. Patisserie Valerie

When Patisserie Valerie started advertising that they are going to be doing Afternoon Tea, well I had to be there.

Here you get a choice between tea and coffee, and includes the scones with jam and clotted cream, finger sandwiches, quiches and a few variety of patisseries miniature classic desserts

At £25.00 for 2 people, you really cant go wrong with Afternoon Tea at Patesserie Valerie. Having said that they always have promotional Offers on, so keep an eye on Groupon and Wowcher, and grab yourself a deal and Afternoon Tea.

Here’s the Webby: https://www.patisserie-valerie.co.uk/

3. Coombe Abbey

Another Country House Hotel, set in the beautiful location of Coventry, with 500 acres of ground, once again its both beautiful on the outside and on the inside, especially because the rooms are filled with antiques and quirky details (I love details!!)

Afternoon Tea is set in a Garden Room Restaurant, (a huge conservatory type room) and it is beautiful. Tea is served Loose Leaf, and a variety of sandwiches are offered. And the desserts, too preety to Eat! The staff are attentive to our needs, and very helpful. A very Pleasant experience. I would consider going again for sure.

Afternoon Tea at Coombe Abbey is £29.95 per person, but once again keep an eye out on Groupon and Wowcher as there are always offers popping up

Here’s the Webby : https://www.coombeabbey.com/

4. Kilworth House

In Lutterworth, I was invited to a baby shower at Kilworth House where we had Afternoon tea. Kilworth House is a victorian Town House, once again a beautiful location.

Afternoon Tea is served in the Orangery, and what beautiful Orangery it is.

The Food is so preety from the scones, to the desserts, i dont think ive ever seen a selection of preety food like this. There is alot of detail to attention, as you can see from the pictures. And the Dishes used are so different to other Afternnon Teas, I loved the coloured stands (Need one for home)

Like all country houses, this is another house with so many photo points and details. (if only I knew I was going to blog when I went to these places, because I wouldve taken so many more pictures to show the details) (Another visit due?)

A visit to the bathroom is a must (I didnt take a picture! but do go! it is the preetiest bathroom ever).

Afternoon Tea at Kilworth house is £25.00 per person

Here’s the webby: https://www.kilworthhouse.co.uk/

5. Colwick Hall Hotel

And finally in Notthingham we have Colwick Hall Hotel, I found Colwick Hall afternoon Tea very different to the others, but just as delighful.

The grounds are beautiful, and well looked after, and inside its just as picteresque.

For our afternoon Tea we were given Soup aswell! so cute! with a crouton inside! Once again we were very well looked after, the staff were attentive to our needs

There are always offers on For Afternoon Tea online, and you can get it from £34.99 for 2 people.

Here’s the Webby : https://colwickhallhotel.com/

So there you go my top 5 Afternoon Tea places. Let me know if you pay a visit and how you found it x

Nutella and Strawberry French Toast Rolls

Who likes strawberries? Me!

Who likes Nutella? Me!!

Who like French toast? Me! Me! Me!

Who like French toast with Nutella and Strawberries?….. drooooooool!!!!

……Oh you do too? Sorry couldn’t hear you, I was getting too excited..

Ok, so when I think of French toast… its breakfast right?

and then Nutella? well thats got to be a dessert, right?

So where do these roll ups fit in? well ….my answer….” Anywhere you damn well want! just eat them!!! ALL!! By yourself! DO NOT SHARE!”. For breakfast, lunch and Dinner, and everything in between aswell!

Thats what I did. Im sorry, you can just salivate on the photos, and im really sorry to my dentist the most, it was one day of pure indulgence, I will behave from today onwards. I promise.

So here is how to make these little indulgences.

Its the most easiest and quickest thing ever…. it took me longer to write this blog up!!

So here goes; You will need:

  • 6 Bread Slices
  • Nutella
  • Strawberries (chopped up)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tablespoon Milk
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 1.4 cup Suger
  • 2 Teaspoon Cinnamon Powder

And heres what to do with it All;

  • Remove the crust of the Bread Slices
  • Roll out and flatten Bread with Rolling Pin
  • Layer Bread with Nutella and add few peices of chopped Strawberries on one end
  • And roll up the Bread, (the Nutella will hold the Roll in shape)

  • Add Butter to a frying pan on medium heat
  • Whisk Egge and milk together
  • Dip a roll to the egg mixture, and fry in frying pan
  • Once fried (usually takes 2/3 minutes max) dip into a bowl of mixed suger and cinnamon, covering it completely

And Voila, it is ready to Eat, or Devour as I did

Just how yummy does this look?

Damn I need to make more…..Jetting off to the kitchen now…… Im thinking…. Lotus and Banana and Cream Cheese!….. Oh Yum! (Sorry Dentist- THIS is the last time. I PROMISE)

Let me know how it goes when you make yours!
